Want to be a peer consultant?
Peer consultants are expected to:
- Assist peers of all levels of experience on all aspects of writing
- Schedule appointments
- Communicate with instructors
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
- Work collaboratively with other staff members
Peer consultants should be able to demonstrate:
- Solid writing skills and a strong desire to help others with their writing
- The people skills needed to effectively interact with peers
- Reliability, professionalism, and a strong work ethic
- An interest in learning about writing center theory and practice
If you would like to apply:
Please provide hard copies of the following information to Paul Nicolaus, Director of the Writing Pad:
- A resume
- A 2-5 page sample of your academic writing
- A letter of recommendation, preferably from an instructor familiar with you and your writing
- A completed application form (PDF)
