Miller Electric Mfg. Co. Scholarship

UWFox is currently accepting applications for ten new Miller Electric Mfg. Co. Scholarships valued at $2,000 per year ($1,000 per semester) for UWFox students enrolled in pre-engineering (freshman and sophomore level) and for students already enrolled in the UWFox/UW-Platteville engineering program (junior and senior level). 

Those enrolled in UWFox's pre-engineering program or UWFox/UW-Platteville's engineering program must also meet the following

Criteria

  • Must be of an ethnic minority and/or female
  • Must demonstrate financial need
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Must have successfully completed high school level Trigonometry
  • Must carry a minimum of 9 credits
  • Continuing students must show progress in completing required classes needed to obtain engineering degrees.

Scholarship Applications (Instructions)

  • New Student Scholarship Application (due February 14, 2013)
    (If you are a current high school student who will graduate in 2013, complete the New Student Scholarship Application) 
  • Continuing Student Scholarship Application (due February 7, 2013)
    (If you are a new Adult student or a current student who will continue at UWFox for 2013-2014, complete the Continuing Student Application)
  • Departing Student Scholarship Application (due February 7, 2013, fill out the form online)
    (If you are a current UWFox student who will transfer for the Fall 2013 semester, complete the Departing Student Application) Departing scholarships are provided by UW Green Bay, UW Oshkosh, and UW Madison Alumni.

Be sure you are submitting a complete scholarship application, use checklist. You will not be sent a missing information request.  

NEW Student Scholarship Application Checklist 
  • Application complete and each one signed (4 copies)
  • High school transcript attached to each application
  • Essay with name attached to each application
  • 4 copies of signed applications and materials submitted by February 14, 2013 to:

CONTINUING  Student Scholarship Application Checklist 
  • Application complete and each one signed (4 copies)
  • Unofficial transcript from PRISM attached to each application
    • Go to PRISM > Click on Self Service > Under Self Service click on Academic Records > click on View Unofficial Transcript, Under Report Type click on the drop down box > select Unofficial Transcript > press GO < print  4 copies

    Notes:  If Fall 2012 is your first semester at UWFox, you must submit a transcript with your fall 2012 grades. 

  • Essay with name attached to each application

  • Your submission of this application electronically constitutes your signature
  • Submit your application electronically by February 7, 2013

Who should apply for UWFox scholarships?

All degree-seeking students who have demonstrated academic achievement or can demonstrate academic promise are encouraged to apply. You must be admitted to UWFox to be considered.

What are the criteria for UWFox scholarships?

Requirements vary for each scholarship. Visit UW-Fox Valley Foundation Scholarship page for specific criteria.

Here is a general overview:

  • All require demonstrated academic achievement.
  • Most require full-time enrollment.
  • Most require enrollment at UWFox for both semesters of award year.
  • Some require financial need demonstrated through the federal financial aid process.
