Inclement Weather Procedures

Weather-related Class Cancellation

DON'T call the university. Classes cancellations are announced on the following radio and television stations:

Radio:

  • WAPL (105.7 FM)
  • WKFX (104.9 FM)
  • WUSW (96 FM)
  • WROE (94.3 FM)
  • WOZZ (93.5 FM)
  • WOSH (1490 AM)
  • WHBY (1150 AM)

Television

  • WBAY (Channel 2)
  • WFRV (Channel 5)
  • FOX (Channel 11)

NOTE: If you have cable, the channel numbers may vary.

Inclement Weather Policy (For Faculty and Staff)

Weather Closing Procedures for Compressed Video (CV) and Audiographics (AU) Courses

When a campus is closed due to weather conditions, please follow these procedures:

Originating Site Closing:

Originating site campus ITS staff member will contact the following to notify them ASAP of the closing:

  • the ICS Bridge
  • ITS staff on all receive site campuses
  • Student Services staff at the receive sites (directors are listed below)
  • cc Patty Marotz at the central office
Receiving Site Closing:

Receiving site campus ITS staff member will contact the following to notify them ASAP of the closing:

  • the ICS Bridge
  • the originating site ITS staff to ask them to tape the class
  • cc Patty Marotz at the central office so she can track closings. If more than three receiving sites are closed simultaneously, she will contact the instructor and originating site to cancel the class.

Note: If there is less than one hour between the time of closing and time of the class session, the contact should be made via telephone AND e-mail. In all other cases, e-mail notification alone should be sufficient.
