Men’s Basketball Head Coach Art Gerhardt


Art Gerhardt comes in this season as the new men’s basketball coach.  Gerhardt brings over 30 years of coaching experience to the Cyclones’ program. His background includes 17 years as a high school varsity coach, and several years as an assistant coach and head coach at the collegiate level.

Gerhardt graduated from West Bend HS and attended UW-Washington County (West Bend). He later transferred to UW-Stevens Point where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree. He went on to earn a Master’s Degree from Cardinal Stritch University (Milwaukee). 
Gerhardt holds two lifetime Wisconsin teaching licenses, and taught at Hartford Central School and Lakeside School (Hartford, WI), Weston HS (Cazenovia, WI), and Waupun HS (Waupun, WI) during his 30 year teaching career.

Gerhardt was the head boys’ varsity basketball coach for five years and head softball coach for three years at Weston HS; head boys’ varsity basketball coach for nine years, freshman girls basketball coach for two years, varsity girls’ basketball coach for three years, and freshman softball coach for three years at Waupun HS.   He was the seventh grade girls’ basketball coach for two years, freshman boys’ basketball coach for two years, junior varsity boys’ basketball coach for four years, and junior varsity softball coach for five years at Oakfield (WI) HS.
Gerhardt was an assistant men’s basketball coach at UW-Washington County from 1977 to 1979, before returning as the program’s head coach at the campus from 1994 to 1997.
