Gift Passes

Passes or Custom Gift Certificates to the planetarium make great gifts.  These special tickets allow the bearer admission to any public show. Bearers of these special passes exchange them at the planetarium box office for tickets to the show they would like to see. Passes have expiration dates which are about one year from date of purchase.

Make any occasion special, and share your love of science, by enclosing a planetarium pass whenever you send a greeting card!  They work especially well in birthday cards, anniversary cards and holiday greeting cards!

Buy-A-Star

Own a piece of our sky! Or, purchase a piece of our sky for a friend.

The Barlow Planetarium created the Buy-A-Star campaign as a way to raise funds for programs and ongoing operating expenses.  Donations help keep the price of tickets down--thereby making our shows accessible to everyone in our community.  Donations help us maintain equipment and keep the planetarium running. The Barlow Planetarium was made possible only through generous support of community members. By joining other star owners and claiming a piece of our sky for yourself, you will help make the stars shine brighter in the Fox Cities!

For a $25 donation to the Barlow Planetarium, we will....

  • Reserve a star in our planetarium for you or a person you designate.
  • Enter your name and the recipient's name in our permanent database.
  • Prepare a special, hand-signed certificate that names the recipient and identifies the star we have reserved for the recipient.
  • Send you a letter confirming your tax-deductible donation.

Is this a gift? We can send the certificate directly to the recipient.
Download a Buy-A-Star form here.

Of course, the planetarium is where you want to see stars, especially yours. After you purchase a star, you can come to any of our live star shows to see your star on the Planetarium dome!

If you have any questions about this program call our Reservation Line (920-832-2868) or stop by the planetarium.

The Barlow Planetarium "Buy-A-Star" program recognizes planetarium donors. Donors are permanently identified with a star in our database of over 9,000 real stars.

No one can actually buy or name a real star in the sky.  The International Astronomical Union is the only organization that names (all) astronomical objects and is recognized by the international scientific community.  The IAU does not sell astronomical objects or the rights to name them.
