D2L Course Management

Desire2Learn (D2L) is the course management system for the UW Colleges. Faculty members may request new course sites using the course request form.

Lynda.Com - Free Online Software Training Services

UWFox students, faculty, and staff can access numerous training materials (documents or videos) that cover topics such as D2L, MS Office, Adobe, photography, video/audio editing and even email marketing and Google Analytics. Visit lynda.com page for more information.

Clientless VPN through a web browser

These instructions will allow you to use a remote access tool (VPN) outside of the UW-Extension and UW-Colleges network to gain access to network drives.

These instructions will allow you to create an image using PowerPoint on your computer. You can then forward the images to the IT Helpdesk.

Free Anti-virus Software for UW Colleges/Extension Employees

UW-Extension active faculty & staff, and UW-Colleges active faculty, staff & students may download and install Symantec's Endpoint Protection free, for use on their home computers. You can download Symantec Endpoint Protection for home use.

We also recommend using Microsoft Security Essentials for windows 7, or Windows Defender built into windows 8. If it is turned off in Windows 8, these instructions show you how to turn it back on.

Survey Tools

Every staff has a survey tool account created in Qualtrics. Qualtrics is a web-based survey service that is available for use by all UW-Colleges and Extension faculty, staff and students. You can use the software to create and share surveys, collect data, and produce reports. Training resources can be found on Qualtrics University. You can also contact Evelyn Li for more information.
