Background before UWFox
I graduated from Neenah HS in 2007. I held a variety of jobs including positions at two different local pet stores for a number of years because I was extremely interested in marine biology. When I was a student at UWFox in 2008 I was part of a study abroad class that went to China and visited Shanghai, Beijing, and the Great Wall of China. In summer, 2010 I went to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and studied the ecology of the boreal forest and reforestation patterns. In summer, 2011 I went to the San Juan Islands off of Washington state and studied the behavior of Orca whales.
Why did you choose UWFox?
As a freshman I came to UWFox because it was close to my home and inexpensive. I was also very familiar with the campus because my mother is a professor at UWFox. After completing two years at UWFox, I transferred to Ripon College where I got my B.S. in Biology. During my senior year at Ripon College I decided against pursuing graduate work in marine biology and chose to pursue a career as a pharmacist instead. However, I didn’t have all the prerequisite courses for pharmacy school so I came back to UWFox to pick up the missing courses.
Have you chosen a major?
Biology, Pre-Pharmacy
What are your career plans after UWFox?
I plan to attend a pharmacy school and obtain a PharmD (doctor of pharmacy) degree.
