Age: 21

Hometown:Jacks Hill, Kingston, Jamaica

Current residence: Appleton, WI

When attended UWFox: Fall 2009-present

Background before UWFox:

I attended Appleton North High School and graduated in 2009. While in high school I co-started Key Club, a student-led organization and a part of the Kiwanis International family of service-leadership programs. I made it my mission to start Key Club because I wanted to give back to my community through volunteering. In addition to Key Club, I attended Renaissance School of the Arts at Appleton West High were I had the opportunity to partake in plays, musicals, stage set-up and more. I’m also an active member and volunteer for (MS) Multiple Sclerosis, which is an auto-immune disease that affects the brain and spinal cord. My goal is to educate as many people as I can about MS. While I was in high school I worked at Burger King.¬† I’m now employed at Sam's Club working for the summer.

Why did you choose UWFox?

Before I applied to UWFox I had a talk with my dad about attending college. He asked me why I wanted to go to college. I then had a talk with two of my closest and best friends, Gail and Kitty. They told me that going to college was the best thing that I can do in order to have a fulfilling career and that I should start at UWFox.  I don't know where I would be right now if it wasn't for them and their advice. I chose to attend UWFox because of its affordability, convenient location and small campus. UWFox is a place where I feel comfortable communicating with my professors and other students. I also really like having smaller classes where I know my opinion matters.

Have you chosen a major?

What are you learning that you find interesting and rewarding at UWFox?

UWFox is a very diverse campus with students of all ages, which makes it an interesting campus to attend. I found some of the older students are a role model for me because many of them had interesting careers before attending UWFox, which they are open to talk about.

What are your career plans after UWFox?

My career plans after UWFox are to eventually transfer to UW-Green Bay to pursue and obtain my Bachelor’s Degree in Anatomy and Physiology. Then I hope to continue my education in neuroscience at Brown University or King’s College in the UK.

Other interesting things about yourself that you’d like to share?

I believe that you set the path you wish others to follow.
