FoxBytes Constitution

Article I - Name
The name of this club shall be “FoxBytes.

Article II - Purpose
1. To initiate and participate in activities that allow interaction between people and technology related issues.

2. To provide a place for students with similar interests in technology related issues to meet and discuss interesting aspects of new and advancing technologies.

3. Allow students the opportunity for hands on exploration of computers and technology related issues.

4. Offer an inviting and friendly atmosphere for social activities.

5. To reach out to the community and campus and promote the understanding of technology.

Article III - Membership
Membership is open to any UW-Fox Valley student, alumnus, staff or faculty member. “Active” members are those who have missed no more than half of the club activities in the past month.

Article IV - Officers and Advisors
Elected officer positions shall include: President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Other appointed positions (e.g., Webmaster) may be created at the discretion of the elected officers in any given year. Elections take place at the start of each academic year, and as needed to fill vacated positions. All “active” club members are eligible to serve as officers and to vote in elections.

Club advisors participate in meetings and supervise club activities as needed. They also offer advice to officers.

The President serves as chairman of club meetings, plans events, serves as representative of the club, presides over projects when appropriate, and coordinates public relations.

The Vice-President assumes the role of President upon President's absence, coordinates fundraising, and acts as liaison to the Student Association or school administration with regard to club activities.

The Secretary takes minutes during the club meetings, and is responsible for communications with club members and any external or campus organizations that the club interacts with.

The Treasurer handles the club finances, and works with the advisors to authorize any monetary transactions involving club money.

All officers should assist each other as needed and work as a team in performing the duties listed above.
