Phi Theta Kappa

International Honors Society

About Us

Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society for two-year colleges. The members of the UW-Fox Valley chapter, Alpha Theta Tau, focus their energy into volunteer activities and community projects. Students with a 3.5 cumulative grade point average who have completed at least twelve credits are eligible for membership. Members are privy to numerous scholarship opportunities from four-year institutions as well as a prominent addition to any future résumé.

Taken from the Phi Theta Kappa- International Honor Society of the Two-Year College site:

Phi Theta Kappa was started at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, in 1910. It was modeled after the senior college honor society, Phi Beta Kappa.

Phi Theta Kappa's mission is two-fold: 1) recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and (2) provide opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fellowship programming.
