SCOUTS
The Weis Earth Science Museum is a member of the Fox Valley Scout Program Collaboration.
We have collaborated to provide a range of professionally-designed programs that give scouts at all levels an opportunity to earn awards
in field trip settings throughout the Fox Valley. This collaboration is voluntary, and is organized by the providers.
This group of field trip providers has developed programs based on the requirements of Boy Scouts of America cub scout awards of merit and of those similar to Girl Scouts USA try-its and badges.
Each program is 2 hours long and has a workshop format in which scouts visit a number of “stations” to complete activities with their scout leaders and our instructors. Each program costs $5.00 per scout; adults are free.
Each two-hour workshop provides all the materials and supplies for scouts to complete the requirements for specific awards or merit.
Our efforts are published seasonally in brochure format to make it easier for scout leaders to find the programs they need.
