The Barlow Planetarium is planning special activities for this month, which marks our first anniversary. The Barlow opened to the public on March 20, 1998. [Trivia question: Do you know what group attended the first show presented in the new planetarium? Answer at end of message.]
This Thursday, March 11th the Barlow Planetarium plans to unveil a permanent new Donor Wall and begin our first anniversary celebration with two free premier showings of "Destination: Mars!". A "Year-in-Review" will be included as part of each presentation. UW-FOX faculty/staff and their families are cordially invited to this special event.
WHAT: Special Premier of "Destination: Mars!"
WHEN: March 11, 1999
Shows at 6:00pm and 7:00pm
Reception from 6:30pm to 8:30pm

| Before all shows on March 18, 19, 20 and 21, audience members who correctly answer space- related trivia questions will receive a free Barlow Planetarium mug or free passes to the planetarium. |

| New displays for the Curler Science Gallery are planned. The displays will focus on new images from the Hubble Space. |

Trivia answer: UW-Fox faculty and staff saw the very first showing of "Through the Eyes of Hubble" on lucky Friday, March 13, 1998!
