If you’re looking for something to do during these hot summer weekend days and evenings, consider taking in a show at the Barlow Planetarium. Within the comfortable and convenient confines of the air-conditioned University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley campus, the planetarium's rock laser schedule includes the music of Aerosmith, Ozzfest and Pink Floyd now through Labor Day weekend.

Laser Aerosmith runs at 7:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays through September 2, and features Aerosmith favorites like, "Dream On" from the band's debut album;" Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotion," favorites from their hugely popular 1989 release "Pump," and their 2001 hit single "Jaded."

Laser Ozzfest runs at 8:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays through September 2. Ozzfest hits hard with songs from legendary heavy metal bands like System of a Down, POD, Rob Zombie, Drowning Pool, Tool, Black Sabbath and more. This year's live Ozzfest in Alpine Valley Music Theatre is sold out, but you can get your metal with a light show at the planetarium this summer.

Laser Floyd: The Vision Bell runs at 9:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays through September 2. Considering the recent death of Pink Floyd founder Syd Barrett on this past July 7, here’s a chance to relive some of Floyd's best work with Laser Floyd: The Vision Bell. The Vision Bell is an excellent collection of Floyd tunes, from the very first album, "Piper at the Gates of Dawn" (principally written by Barrett), through "Wish You Were Here," and including more recent tunes like "Keep Talking" and "One Slip."

Tickets for rock laser shows are $7.50 for adults and $6.50 for children/students/seniors. Great discounts are offered for those seeing two or three shows on the same night.

Tickets are available before shows or in advance at the planetarium box office, which is open Wednesday, Thursday & Friday from Noon-2:00 p.m; Friday & Saturday from 6:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m.; and Saturday & Sunday from 1:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased by phone at 920-832-2848.

The Barlow Planetarium summer schedule also features several star shows, including several shows produced especially for kids as well as family-friendly laser shows. For more information on all shows, contact the planetarium's ticket office or visit the website at www.barlowplanetarium.org.
