Show mom she's a star this Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 14th, as mothers and grandmothers get free admission to the Barlow Planetarium when they are accompanied by a child or grandchild (of any age)! The Barlow Planetarium, located on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley, is one of the world’s finest planetariums and offers state-of-the art digital astronomy and laser shows.
Three different shows are being shown this Mother’s Day. "Many Stars, Many Stories," is being shown at 1:30 and is available for families with children 8 and younger. "Peter & The Wolf," offered at 2:30, is a brand new laser show targeted at all ages, and is narrated by Sting. At 3:30, "Comet Hunting in the Spring Sky," takes viewers on a tour of the constellations and planets that are shining brightly in our current night sky. See one show, two shows, or all three! There is no limit to how many shows moms can see for free this Sunday.
In order for moms and grandmothers to receive a free ticket, they need only be accompanied by a child or grandchild of any age. Children or grandchildren will be admitted at regular price, which is $4.50 for all kids under 18 (or with school ID) and $6.50 for adults. Valid free passes are also accepted.
Within each show, we'll include "motherly" star stories for this special occasion, and we'll present a special tribute to mothers among the stars on the planetarium dome.
The trip to the Barlow can be a truly memorable outing by “giving” your mother one of our stars. For a $25 donation to the Planetarium, we will reserve one of our stars for your mother, store the information in our permanent archives, mail a signed certificate to your mother, and even show you your Mom's star during your show that day.
The Barlow Planetarium is located at 1478 Midway Road, Menasha. For more information about the special Mother’s Day program, please call 920-832-2868 or visit the website, http://www.uwfox.uwc.edu/barlow/.
