UWFox Hosts 'Fox Valley Concert Band Annual Spring Performance'

The Fox Valley Concert Band, under the direction of Dr. Marc Sackman, is presenting its annual “Spring Concert” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 9. The performance is in the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley’s Fine Arts Theatre.
Sackman, assistant professor of music and band director at UWFox, said that, “On the program will be band classics, ‘Outdoor Overture’ by Aaron Copeland, and Gustav Holst’s ‘Second Suite in F for Military Band.’”
In addition, UWFox student Nickole Burr will be the featured soloist on flute for Kent Kennan’s “Night Soliloquy.” The Concert Band will also perform more recent compositions by Oregon composer Clyde Thompson, “Music for Winds and Percussion.”
“The performance will conclude with an arrangement of ‘Symphonic Dances from Fiddler on the Roof,’” Sackman added.
