‘Excel’ and ‘Yoga’ Classes Offered Through UWFox Continuing Education

The Office of Continuing Education at the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley is offering two courses in Excel 2007 and one course in Yoga.
“Fundamentals of Excel 2007” focuses on Microsoft® Office Excel 2007, which has more tools and features than meets the eye. This is a course designed for the Excel beginner or a self-taught spreadsheet user. “Fundamentals of Excel 2007” will help participants become more proficient with the newest features and tools that Excel has to offer.
Course topics include: using standard and formatting tool bars; building, saving, closing, opening, changing, and printing spreadsheets; entering and manipulating data, creating charts and graphs; using and writing simple formulas; and utilizing time-saving spreadsheet navigation.
The course instructor is Jack Marcoe, B.S., a software training consultant and life coach. Dates for “Fundamentals of Excel 2007” are successive Mondays, including February 15, 22 and March 1. The class runs from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The course fee of $95 includes the course manual. A basic knowledge of Windows is suggested as a prerequisite for this course.
“Excel 2007...The Next Step,” takes the fundamental Excel user to the next step and can help participants streamline repetitive tasks and to display spreadsheet data in more visually effective worksheets. Participants will learn how to calculate with advanced formulas; organize worksheet and table data; create and modify charts; analyze data using PivotTables and PivotCharts; insert graphic objects; customize and enhance workbooks and the Excel environment.
Jack Marcoe is also the instructor for “Excel 2007…The Next Step, which meets on successive Mondays, including March 8, 15, and 29, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The course fee is $95 and includes the course manual. It is suggested that participants have the prerequisite “Getting to Know Excel 2007” or basic knowledge of Excel 2007.
“Vinyasa Yoga” is an empowering style of yoga that connects postures through a series of movements promoting flexibility, strength and balance. By connecting the mind, body and spirit through breath participants can experience the powerful and life changing benefits that can arise from practicing yoga. This class is suitable for all levels.
Besides increased strength and flexibility, yoga can help with weight management, improved circulation, stress relief, pain relief, better breathing and cardiovascular conditioning, as well as a provide a sense of inner peace.
The instructor for “Vinyasa Yoga” is Michele Schulz, C.Y.T, R.Y.T., Certified Baptiste Yoga Teacher, and Owner of the Yoga Junction Studio. Dates for this class are Tuesdays, February 16, 23, March 2, 9, 16, and 23, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. The class fee is $69 for an individual, with the dual enrollment fee $119. Both people in the dual enrollment plan must sign up at the same time.
