Personal Finance Courses Featured in UWFox Continuing Education Courses

Personal finance courses are offered this fall through the Office of Continuing Education at the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley. All courses are taught on the UWFox campus on Midway Road in Menasha.
“Wills and Trusts” is a course designed to ensure that a person’s loved ones are properly cared for at death. The class will discuss various types of estate plans and trusts plus different types of powers of attorney. Taught by Christina Winch, a certified financial planner, the course is scheduled on four Thursdays starting October 12, 19, 26 and November 2 from 7-9 p.m. The cost is $59 for two individuals and one course manual. Additional manuals are $10.
“Retirement Planning Today” will help individuals and families make informed financial decisions about how to retire early, use tax laws advantageously, evaluate insurance coverage, and minimize risks while maximizing rewards. The course, taught by Neelam Davison, JD, LTCP, a lawyer and financial advisor, will also cover choosing the best retirement distribution plan and ensuring that one’s estate plan functions properly under the ever-changing estate laws. The course is offered twice, and each course is for two evenings: Thursdays, September 28 and October 5 or Wednesdays, October 18 and 25, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. The cost is $59 for two individuals and one course manual. Additional manuals are $20.
