Due to the popularity of the opportunity, The University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley's Office of Continuing Education is offering a second unique, one day adventure tour on Tuesday, May 15th 2012: a tour of seven food tasting locations in the exciting and historic Gold Cost and Old Town Chicago neighborhoods. Participants will experience delicious food samplings that are served from a variety of "mom and pop" specialty food stores and one-of-a-kind ethnic eateries. Stops include a historic Jewish deli, an authentic Polish bakery and the Windy City’s top rated Chicago-style pizzeria.
Between tastings, participants will be able to experience the life of a Chicagoan as you stroll along the bustling tree-lined streets of Chicago's celebrated Near North neighborhoods. An enthusiastic local guide will share their knowledge and recommendations of architectural gems, beautiful gardens, historic mansions, backdoor venues, hidden parks, and exciting local attractions. The "Food Tasting and Cultural Walking Tour" will cover 1.5 miles and the actual tour takes approximately three hours.
"Whether you're an avid Chicago tourist or visiting for the first time we guarantee that you'll walk away with new historical and architectural perspectives and greater appreciation for Chicago's culinary artisans", said Cathy Paynter, UWFox Director of Continuing Education.
The date of the trip is Tuesday, May 15th 2012... the same day as the first group tour, which sold out. The trip includes round-trip transportation from UWFox to Chicago, the Chicago guided walking tour, and food samples from the seven unique eateries. This individual cost of the trip is $139. Departure from UWFox will be 8:00 a.m. with the return to the UWFox campus the same day at approximately 9:00 p.m. For more information, please call the UWFox Office Continuing Education office at 920-832-2636 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
