The University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley is presenting, “Forever Plaid,” by Stuart Ross, one of the most popular and successful contemporary musicals. “Forever Plaid” show dates are Thursday, January 7, Friday, January 8, and Saturday, January 9 at 7:00 p.m. There is also a 2:00 p.m. matinee performance on Saturday, January 9. All performances are in the James W. Perry Hall in the new Communication Arts Center on the UWFox campus in Menasha.
The play centers on four young male singers, The Plaids, in the 1950’s who are killed in an auto accident while on their way to their first big concert performance. Miraculously, they are revived for a posthumous chance to fulfill their dreams and perform the show that they never got a chance to do. Wonderful nostalgic pop hits from the 1950’s will have audiences humming along while the dialogue of the era will bring smiles and laughter to those attending.
Songs that The Plaids perform include, “Three Coins in the Fountain,” “Undecided,” “Gotta Be This or That,” “Moments to Remember,” “Crazy About Ya, Baby,” “No, Not Much, “Sixteen Tons,” “Chain Gang,” “Perfidia,” “Cry,” “Heart and Soul,” “Lady of Spain,” “Scotland the Brave,” “Shangri-La,” “Rags to Riches,” and “Love is a Many Splendored Thing.”
“Forever Plaid” has been called “delightful, original, and funny!” by critics and reviewers.
