City of Menasha, WI -- The Weis Earth Science Museum (WESM) is sponsoring its annual “Fox Rocks!” show on Saturday, March 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday, March 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. “Fox Rocks!” is being held in the Student Union, Atrium and Emeritus Room at the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley, located at 1478 Midway Road in Menasha.
In addition to a number of dealers selling fossils, minerals and jewelry, the show will feature door prizes, displays, demonstrations, and continuous silent auctions. Among demonstrations are gemstone faceting and jewelry wire-wrapping. Kids will be able to take part in lots of fun activities, including button-making, face painting, and a scavenger hunt. Admission to "Fox Rocks!" is free.
" ‘Fox Rocks!’ is a fun family event to brighten the last days of winter", said Dr. Joanne Kluessendorf, WESM director. "You’ll find specimens at the show to please a long-time collector or to inspire a new hobby, and the jewelry is unique and affordable."
Admission to the WESM, the state’s official mineralogical museum, is half-price during the ‘Fox Rocks!’ show. The WESM has displays featuring the geologic history of Wisconsin as well as fascinating dinosaur exhibits.
