Fox Valley Concert Band Offers Annual 'Fall Concert' at UWFox

The Fox Valley Concert Band, conducted by Dr. Marc Sackman, will present its first concert of the 2013-2014 season on Friday, October 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Perry Hall on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley.
The program will be focused on music inspired by folk music traditions around the world, including Slavonic Dances #8 (Czechoslovakia) by Antonin Dvorak and Irish Tune From County Derry (better known as Danny Boy) as arranged by Percy Grainger.
Also on the program are Yiddish Dances (Klezmer) by Adam Gorb and a setting of the American work tune Song of the Gandy Dancers by Richard Saucedo. Danzόn No. 2 (Mexico) by Arturo Márquez rounds out the folk song-inspired works. The march for the evening will be the Florentiner March by Julius Fučik.
The concert is free and open to the public with unreserved seating.
