UWFox Chorale & Jazz Ensemble to Perform

The University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley invites the public to attend a delightful concert when the UWFox Chorale and Jazz Ensemble perform on Sunday, December 4 at 7:00 p.m. in Perry Hall within the campus’ Communication Arts Center.
According to Cara Davis, UWFox Chorale director and associate lecturer in music, “The Chorale’s selections include the early music sounds of Resonet in, ‘Laudibus,’ by Jacob Handl, and the hauntingly beautiful, ‘In the Bleak of Winter,’ arranged by Jay Rouse. In addition, the Chorale will explore the wonderful sounds of Z. Randall Stroope with the powerful, ‘Lamentations of Jeremiah.’”
“ ‘Festival Sanctus’ will delight audiences with its crisp chords and syncopated melodies,” Davis added. “In addition, the harmonically beautiful selections, ‘A Spotless Rose’ and ‘Sure on This Shining Night,’ will fill the evening with the enchanting sounds of chorale music.”
The UWFox Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Marc Sackman, associate professor of music and director of bands, will perform “Bags Grove” by Milt Jackson; “Impression” by John Coltrane; “Blue Bossa,” by Kenny Durham; “Maiden Voyage” by Herbie Hancock; “Livin’ Large” by Christopher Eichorst; and, “Sonny Moon for Two” by Sonny Rollins.
