Jazz Ensemble and Chorale Together in Concert at the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley

The UWFox Jazz Ensemble and the UWFox Chorale will perform together on Sunday, December 6 at 7 p.m. in Perry Hall inside the campus Communication Arts Center.
The Jazz Ensemble will play several standards, including "Bags Groove" by Milt Jackson and “Impressions”by John Coltrane, and is directed by Dr. Marc Sackman, conductor and associate professor of music at UWFox.
The 42-member Chorale will perform around the theme of "Ringing in Peace." Selections include "O Magnum Mysterium" by Morten Lauriden, and two poetic texts: "Stars I Shall Find" based on the poetry of Sara Teasdale, and an arrangement of "The Bells" based on Edgar Allen Poe.
Encore!, a 15-member touring handbell ensemble based in Oshkosh, will accompany the Chorale on several Christmas songs. The UWFox Chorale is directed by Ms.Cara Davis, associate lecturer of music at UWFox. Lynda Zimmerman is the accompanist. The concert is free and open to the public with unreserved seating.
