UWFox Chorale and Jazz Ensemble to Perform

The University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley invites the public to attend a wonderful spring concert when the UWFox Chorale and Jazz Ensemble perform on Sunday, April 29 at 7:00 p.m. in Perry Hall within the campus’ Communication Arts Center.
Cara Davis, UWFox Chorale director and associate lecturer in music, has chosen the theme of, “Spring is in the Air,” for the songs that the 47 student-member Chorale will perform. Selections include “The Awakening” (Joseph M. Martin), “Amor De Mi Alma” (Garcilaso de la Vega and Z. Randall Stroope), “I Love My Love” (Samuel Taylor Coleridge), “Wait Till the Sun Shines Nellie” (arr. Warren Haeger), “Gloria” (Bob Chilcott), and “Over the Rainbow” (E.Y. Harburg/Harold Arlen).
The UWFox Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Marc Sackman, associate professor of music and director of bands, features seven UWFox students. Numbers to be played by the Jazz Ensemble include “Bag’s Groove” (Milt Jackson), “Livin’ Large” (Christopher Eichorst), “Satin Doll” (Billy Strayhorn, Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer), “Blue Bossa” (Kenny Durham), “Maiden Voyage” (Herbie Hancock), “Autumn Leaves” (Joseph Kosma and Johnny Mercer), and “Summertime” (DuBose Howard and George Gershwin).
