This one-of-a-kind experience in the heart of the state capital includes visiting Frank Lloyd Wright’s Monona Terrace, the Capitol building, the UW-Madison Union and the city’s eclectic shops on State Street.

The food tour is expected to last approximately three hours and will cover less than two miles at a leisurely pace, with some stairs. There will be six food stops with three of the stops "sit-down" locations.

Madison tasting locations include a restaurant with a simple New American cuisine with a focus on local, fresh ingredients; a specialty food market with artesian cheeses from local pastures and around the world; a pizza place known for its unusual toppings, high-quality ingredients, fresh salads and late night crowds; a family-owned Madison restaurant featuring Himalayan and Nepalese dishes; a popular sports bar established in 1952 that serves up Wisconsin’s finest brats; and the UW-Madison Memorial Union Rathskeller and Terrace that was built in 1928 and sits on the shores of Lake Mendota, and is the heart and soul of the Madison campus. The tour group will also explore the rich cream Babcock Ice Cream made in the Memorial Union

A local guide will provide the tour group with personal knowledge of the Madison locations visited, including interesting places for members to visit on their own. Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended for tour participants. The food tour will take place rain or shine.

Cost of the Madison "Downtown Lake to Lake Food Tour" is $109.00 and includes trip transportation from UWFox to Madison and return to the Menasha campus, the guided walking tour, and food sampling from the unique Madison eateries.
