The University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley has announced that Pao Lor, Ph.D., has been named soccer coach for the Cyclones. Lor succeeds Wil Krautkramer, who stepped down as soccer coach after his teams went undefeated for two consecutive seasons while earning back to back Wisconsin Collegiate Conference state championships. Lor brings almost three decades of playing and coaching experiences to UWFox as the new soccer coach. His coaching background includes experiences at West De Pere High School, Oshkosh West High School, Appleton East High School, local soccer club FC Magic and summer recreational Hmong soccer teams. As an educator and coach, Lor’s coaching philosophy focuses on key elements for success off and on the field. He said, “A student athlete’s success in academics is equally, if not more important, than his or her success on the field.”
In addition to his role as the UWFox soccer coach, Lor is also an associate professor with the Professional Program in Education at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Lor earned his Bachelor of Science in Education and his Master of Science in Educational Leadership from UW-Oshkosh, and his Ph.D. in Educational Administration from UW-Madison.
Prior to joining the UWFox, Lor was an academic advisor at UW-Oshkosh; a high school and middle school teacher with the Appleton Area School District; a coach; an associate lecturer on the faculty at UWFox; an associate principal and athletic director with the Green Bay Area School District; and an assistant principal at Neenah High School.
Lor currently resides in Kimberly, Wisconsin, with his wife and four children.
