On Thursday, March 10, the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley is hosting its spring semester Parents' Night, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the campus' Student Union. The information session is targeted exclusively at parents who want to find out more about all the various programs that UWFox offers to students.

Helping their high school-age child select a college is sometimes a daunting task for parents. Often, parents wonder how they can obtain more personal information about colleges and universities that they can't get by attending one of the many "college fairs” that bring together scores of representatives each representing the college that they work for. This is a great opportunity to find out more about the UWFox campus in Menasha.

UWFox is one of the 13 campuses that make up the UW Colleges, and currently has nearly 1,700 students enrolled. The campus offers courses primarily specializing in freshman and sophomore curriculum to provide students with "the best start for the life they want," as well as "guaranteed transfer options" to four-year universities.

UWFox is now offering collaborative bachelor's degree programs with UW-Oshkosh (Organizational Administration) and UW-Platteville (Mechanical Engineering), which allows students the opportunity to begin and complete a bachelor's degree without ever leaving the Menasha campus.

Parents attending the information session will hear from Campus Dean / CEO Jim Perry about the quality of education at UWFox, various academic programs, new things going on at the campus, and comparative educational cost factors.

Student Services personnel will be presenting information about application procedures to follow and requirements needed to be admitted as a student at UWFox. The campus' special services, programs, and financial aid will also be briefly explained.

Additionally, parents will hear first-hand from several current faculty members and students who will candidly answer questions and address issues about transitioning from high school to college, the expectations for academic performance, and extracurricular activities opportunities available as a UWFox student.

Parents' Night Spring 2005 is free and open to the public, with pre-registration requested in order to plan on sufficient seating and information materials for all attendees. To register for the session, please call the UWFox Office of Student Services at 832-2620 or email foxinfo@uwc.edu.

The University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley is located at 1478 Midway Road, Menasha, between S. Oneida St. on the east, S. Appleton Road on the west, and just south of Hwy. 441. Free parking is available on the west side of the campus.
