The University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley is hosting two special events in April for prospective students. On Wednesday, April 8, UWFox is presenting "College Preview Day," from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. On April 14, the campus is offering an "Open House," from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
"College Preview Day" on April 8 is designed to provide information that’s helpful to prospective students and parents of all ages, with a particular focus aimed at current high school students and their parents. The session is being held in the campus’ Student Union.
"College Preview Day" offers information about admission to UWFox as well as financial aid programs that are available to college students. In addition, a panel of current UWFox students and faculty members will share their thoughts and perspectives about college life, and what incoming college students can expect when they begin their own collegiate experience.
Other activities scheduled for UWFox’s "College Preview Day" include an informational presentation by campus administrators; an optional tour of the campus; and a question and answer session with members of the UWFox Student Services staff.
For adults who always wanted to find out more about what it takes to enroll in or return to college, or how to earn a degree, or how to transfer credits from past courses, or how to pay for college, the UWFox "Open House" on April 14 is a grand opportunity for prospective adult students to come to the campus to see what it has to offer in the way of facilities, learning opportunities, associate and bachelor degree programs, transfer possibilities, financial aid, college costs, and flexible scheduling.
The "Open House" is providing optional campus tours at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Members of the campus’ faculty and staff will be on hand to explain programs and showcase facilities. Campus Executive Officer and Dean, Dr. Jim Perry, will be available to answer questions as well.
Besides offering an outstanding freshman and sophomore collegiate curriculum and the Associate of Arts and Science Degree, UWFox also offers five bachelor’s degrees through collaborations with various four-year UW campuses – with the classes for the bachelor’s degrees all offered at the Menasha campus.
Bachelor’s degrees in "Organizational Administration" and "Leadership Development" are offered through UW Oshkosh. "Mechanical Engineering" and "Electrical Engineering" bachelor’s degrees are offered through UW-Platteville. And, a B.S. in "American Studies" is offered through UW-Stevens Point. Representatives from the various UWFox Collaborative Bachelor’s Degree programs will be on hand during the "Open House" to provide information as well as to answer questions about their respective programs.
During the "Open House" the UWFox Jazz Ensemble will be on hand to add musical entertainment, light snacks will be available and the Weis Earth Science Museum – the state’s official mineralogical museum – will be open for visitors to view.
