Veterans Career and Benefits Fair coming to UWFox

On Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., the University of Wisconsin – Fox Valley will host a veterans career and benefits fair. This job fair will feature specific assistance to veterans and military service members.
Nearly 40 local, state and federal agencies will be on site to take resumes and job applications and conduct brief interviews with attendees about their job skills. In some cases businesses will be setting up second interviews or offering jobs on the spot. Some of those businesses include Schneider National, Kwik Trip, Mercury Marine, Miller Electric, Faith Technologies, Time Warner Cable and the Waupaca Foundry.
Veterans and military service members will also be able to:
- Apply for state and federal benefits
- Receive information and talk with representatives about loans, health care and education benefits
- Visit with staff from the Office of Veterans Services, the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs and the County Veteran Service officers
The fair will be held in the Thrivent Financial Lobby and Baehman Theatre at UWFox. Sponsors include the Fox Cities Workforce Development Center, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve and the State of Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
