The Office of Continuing Education at the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley is offering a one day “Fine Art Workshop” on Saturday, May 14th, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m in the UWFox campus art class room #1629.

The workshop, “Working with Watercolor…Architectural Details,” is being led by instructor Ernie Pleger, a retired attorney and long-time freelance painter from Marinette. The workshop size is limited to 16 painters, and previous watercolor painting experience is suggested.

Since many watercolor paintings include subjects with architectural details, workshop participants will learn to portray buildings as well as various textures and surfaces. The workshop will help the participants discover ways to make the most of reference photos and learn the benefits and techniques of masking and glazing. Pleger will also discuss with participants how to avoid common watercolor pitfalls.

The fee for the workshop is $53. A supply list for the workshop will be sent to registered participants prior to the start of the class. It is recommended that participants bring a sack lunch to the workshop.

Pre-registration is required five business days prior to the start of this workshop. For more information about the “Working with Watercolor…Architectural Details,” please contact Cathy Paynter at the UWFox Office of Continuing Education, 832-2636 or email her at cathy.paynter@uwc.edu. On-line registration is available at www.uwfox.uwc.edu/conted.
